Funny, not human

For reasons suspected, I am wondering “why hare brained?” Snail is better and fleas smaller if the point was to point to a creature who must have a small brain due to their minuscule body size.

I would have chosen chicken, which is also funny as I persist in claiming that artfully including the animal words chicken or monkey can make sentences funny, sometimes a cow will suffice to make funniness. Ptarmigans are not funny, despite being spelled funny, nor are axolotls and sorry, coati do not make the cut. Monkeys are undoubtedly funny due to the passing but missing, resemblance to their cousins, us. This resemblance, while genetically insignificant is nonetheless great when it comes to the injustice heaped upon near humans, which is not funny and yet they are, which is sad not funny. Chickens are funny due to the absurdity of considering their inclusion in just about any human enterprise. I believe this is due to their movements, including the seemingly perpetually easy to distract, head pop, accentuated by their flipping head accoutrements. As chickens are essentially dinosaurs, we can safely assume that dinosaurs were funny. Brontosaurus and Tyrannosaurus, with little head and short arms respectively, just had to incite ancient hilarious if cruel laughter.

Dogs and cats are funny when they do funny things, although it is more than likely they find not much of what they do funny themselves. The inclusion of “dog” or “cat” to a phrase however, is not all that funny generally. Context being everything, I have written a short story about bacteria that gets laughs, so bacteria are funny. A 200 pound human has between two to six pounds of bacteria in their bodies and that fact, in itself, is quite funny, if also horrifying.
